Windows 7 Super Unstable Download Speed

Hi guys, please I need help!

When I'm downloading (with Firefox 3.5) the download speed is very very unstable. My connection speed is 3.2Mb, and even when i'm downloading a file with good providers like Ubuntu my speed is like: Start at 80kb..100kb..3.2Mb then 3.0..3.1...90kb, 128kb..200kb..287kb..3.2Mb..2.8Mb..... This all in seconds!!

So what i did, with another computer (my brother) i make a speed test with the same file (Ubuntu), on mine brother PC, the download is stable, like this: 3.4Mb..3.3Mb..3.4Mb..3.4Mb! STABLE! But he is on Windows XP Pro i'm on Windows 7 RC (Build 7100).

Same scenario with mine brother computer (same file, same browser, same network and same location).

I can't figure out what is the problem! Can be Windows 7 RC the problem?

My computer was not runing any P2P program or direct download!

First RC will start timing out within a month so you are going to have to change anyway.

Second I suspect you are running homegroup. Homegroup should not be used on mixed OS networks. since you have XP ubuntu, and win7 you should be using the workgroup model. asy enough to verify. simply create a new network using workgroup and if it fixes you problem you can disable IPv6 and kill homegroup.

I don't think this will fix my problem and I'm not runing Ubuntu in any computer, it was just for test! Anyway how do I change to Workgroup model?

Please guys, I need help over here!
