Windows 7 system image creation in less than 10 minutes?

Usually when I do a system image backup (standard procedure from Start menu, ie type BACKUP) on my 140gb drive it takes around 2 hours, but today the operation took less than 10 minutes, although it said completed successfully. What is going on here as there are no apparent errors?

Windows 7 backup uses incremental backups when creating a system image with file/folder backups. So it could be that it's only backed up the changes since the last full backup/incremental.
Did you check to make sure it included all the drives/folders for backup?
