Can you help me please?
I just wanna' change my taskbar's color , but I can't.
When I do this tutorial, desktop>personalize>windows color
this appeared: Taskbar Color.png

So, can u help me ?:D:D

Type in 'device manager' into start menu search, and press enter.
Double click on the devices you want, got to the drivers tab and click on 'Update drivers'.
That is how you do it from inside Windows ;)

The problem is. You can change the taskbar/window colors only with aero enabled. Enable aero (if you can) and make the windows not transparent. That should work and you can set the color

In the Aero Themes tab in the Personalization menu
(right click desktop :ar: Personalization)

If you dont see it, then you PC might not be able to run Aero.

Also you can adjust Visual Effects here:

Right click computer :ar: Click on the Windows Experience Index text :ar: Click the Adjust Visual Effects (on the left side of the window)

As you asked when you posted a message to me, update the 'Display driver', choose 'Let windows search for software automatically online'. That should update the drivers without you needing to do anything else (actually, you might need to reboot).

As the others have said, check for aero :)

Right click on an empty spot on your desktop until you get the desktop menu. Then you will see the personalization option. Click on it and as serg said, if you can chose the themes he posted, you can enable aero :)

Furthermore OP, in order for members to help you, it would be great if you can add your full system specs. An easy way to do this is go to start and type CMD and hit enter. In the window that opens type dxdiag.exe and hit enter. If a box pops up asking you about digital signing just press cancel. You will get a window up that gives you your full system specs. There are tabs across the top you can select that shows you your graphics card etc. Try adding the info there into your system specs and others will be able to help you better :)

As a PP said, it may be that your graphics card doesn't support aero.

Hope that helps a bit :)


Edit: *warning* DirectX is actually a diagnostic tool so don't use it to play around unless you know what you are doing but it is also a really quick way to check your system specs without downloading 3rd party software. There are other ways to get your specs but this is what I have always used for a 30 sec solution :D

If you can get your graphics card model number (I'm guessing it's a nVidia 8 series), Rakpere will search for a driver for you so you can use aero and resolve your original problem :) You are currently using a Standard VGA driver provided by windows but it would be best if you could use the nVidia driver from the manufactuers website.
