Solved Windows 7 taskbar quick launch Does not stack creates new

Hi all I am fairly new to Windows 7 and its quick launch taskbar. However when I started using it once I clicked on a quick launch icon it stacked it to itself after opening. for instance Firefox or Chrome. Now however when I click one it quick launch icon does not "stack" after opening it creates another icon that then does stack. It now does this for everything on my quick launch. Any ideas. I know it is not a big deal but it drives the old lady crazy and I hate hearing about it LOL Thanks for looking and your help.

Hello Nick, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Technically Quick Launch is a taskbar toolbar and not a pinned item. This is why when you open/run a item from Quick Launch, it will still have a separate icon appear on the taskbar for it's opened window. There's nothing that you could do about this other than pinning the item/program in Quick Launch on the takbar itself instead. This way you could run it from the taskbar instead of Quick Launch.
