Windows 7 Temporary Internet Files

Ever since I have Windows 7 I noticed that thousands of temporary internet files are being created. In particular I noticed a true epidemy of random .kmz files, none of them actually haing been used by me.
Is there a cure?

have you been using google earth?

that's where the .kmz files are coming from, as far as i know.

You can cleanup temporary internet files with the inbuilt disk cleaner or a 3rd party tool like CCleaner. CCleaner can be scheduled to clean up automatically too.

.kmz files are zipped files used by google earth.

You may be using the extention and not kow it File Extension KMZ

Download TFC by Old Timer TFC - Temp File Cleaner by OldTimer - Geeks to Go Forums and save it to your desktop.
Save any unsaved work. TFC will close ALL open programs including your browser!
Double-click on TFC.exe to run it. If you are using Vista/Windows 7 right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator.
Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process and let it run uninterrupted to completion.
Important! If TFC prompts you to reboot, please do so immediately. If not prompted, manually reboot the machine anyway to ensure a complete clean.

If you go to Internet Options, you can manually delete temporary internet files or select "Delete browsing history on close".
