Windows 7 to support 3D and Holographic sysytems ?

Hi all
This is again in the realm of speculation but with the advent of 3D TV (making its appearance in testing labs for possible manufacturing "pre prod" phases this summer and maybe for consumers next year) what chance do you think of W7 supporting 3D Monitors or is that for a future Windows release.

Maybe some Holographic hardware would appear too.

Now this WOULD require HUGE increases in RAM and CPU processing power -- at LEAST a top end quad - maybe 8 cores and a massive performance increase in Video graphics (GPU etc).

Most "Games" still look to me as not lifelike at all so I would imagine the whole video sub systems would have to be redesigned from scratch.

(I'm talking here about Genuine 3D where you don't have to wear those funny plastic blue / red glasses).

I've seen some trade demos of 3D TV -- once you've seen some of this you really just want to throw away your existing equipment.

Believe me this is AWESOME (and I'm not really a huge watcher of TV). This stuff is finally ready for Prime Time.

T.V does not interest me either unless it is sport. I find it brain washes the masses. Media in that sense tries to control. I'm the captain of my own ship so don't have much time for t.v and would rather sit in front of my computer entertaining myself (cough) rather than being entertained.

I would say that it is a few windows releases away myself because as you say it would need a "massive" leap in the current hardware. You would need about 20 4890s and unless you got a million pound to waste 20 of those will be coming no time soon.

I think games are now showing really good signs of being life like so cant agree on that one. If you got the hardware to crank it up it looks fantastic imo.
