Hi,

I'm running Windows 7 on a secure domain with many GPOs applied, SEP client is also installed.
When running a scan, either by right-clicking on a file and selecting "scan for viruses" or from within the SEP client window, I get an error message "Symantec Endpoint Protection could not open this dialog".
I've found the GPO rule that's preventing the window from opening, it's User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval mode. Once this is disabled and the PC is rebooted, the dialog opens fine.
Turning off any function of UAC or even this specific rule can't be done, as it's required to be left as it is..
Any way of allowing the SEP scan window to run without disabling UAC settings?

Thanks

Hi,

I am Chetan Savade from Symantec Technical Support Team.

In general case scan works though UAC is enabled, here it's blocking SEP scan due to stringent GPO settings.

I believe you need to make changes into GPO setting itself to allow SEP scan to run.

Regards,

Chetan
