OK so I am currently having issues setting up my home network. I have a windows 7 desktop, windows xp laptop, and a Ubuntu desktop. I am able to share folders inbetween the two windows OS machines. However, it seems I am incapable of doing so with the ubuntu desktop.
I have shared permisson folders on both the windows 7 machine and the ubuntu machine. When I try to access the computer through their respective network files I am prompted to log in. I assume the log in required is the username and password of that computer (This is how it is set up through my laptop running XP). However, neither Windows 7 accessing ubunu or Ubunto accessing windows 7 log-ins will give me access with that computer's username and password.
Any advice? Basically I am looking for the ability to ftp programming code from my windows machine to my ubuntu machine. If there is a easier way in doing this please let me know!
Thank you
