My installation of Windows 7 seems to have been corrupted somehow, after I did a hard reboot via. the switch on the front of my computer. Now, whenever I boot from my hard drive, nothing seems to happen. After the BIOS shows up, then screen just stays black, and there is no hard drive activity or anything. I've tried using the system repair disk to no avail, but somehow the repair disk does detect my windows installation. I've tried using system restore to restore the computer to the way it was 2 days ago when it was working just fine, but the problem still exists. This issue has me pretty stumped at this point, and frustration is starting to set in. On a side note, I would only like to reformat and reinstall as a last resort. Thank you.
