It is on Amazon and 2 more. If you don't need all of the features of Ultimate-I would urge you to buy Professional. It is what we use and it does most everything. BTW: you will find that only the OEM (1 fresh install on 1 computer) is readily available since MS has chosen to discontinue sales at their MS Store site.

Download the Home Premium ISO from this site, then write it to DVD or USB when you want to install. As mentioned, use the product key on the COA sticker underneath your laptop to activate the fresh installation.

No need to purchase a copy of Windows 7 to refresh your OS if it becomes corrupt.
Your ASUS laptop currently has the ability to create a set of Recovery DVD's or USB Recovery Thumbdrive. These are created from the Recovery Partition on your laptop. This is the very first thing a user should do with a new Laptop. Alternativly, you could make a complete Drive Image to an external backup Drive using free Macrium Reflect.

I actually did that with the Asus recovery disk. messed up the drive(s) in the process. It did not refresh the OS and desktop, it wiped everything and installed itself as new. I pressed the wrong selection, wiped stuff I had on the 2nd hard drive also.

I never did get around to creating the recovery dvd, guess I should have.

ok, will get professional instead of ultimate. from what I understand, Ultimate & Pro has the ability to turn off Aero features that Home Premium does not.
