Windows 7 Ultimate for Netbook ?

hey guys ,
i have an Acer AOD260 which is came with Windows 7 Starter. I want to upgrade it to Windows 7 Ultimate , is it will run smoothly ?
the netbook came with Intel Atom Processor and 1 GB ram only .
any suggestion ?

Unless you need language packs, Bitlocker or initiate Remote Desktop, save money by using the more standard Home Premium - you'll want Anytime Upgrade.

I have run Premium and Ultimate on an old HP notebook on 1 gb RAM with no problem or difference noticed. Actually upgraded it from 512mb which wouldn't run Avast + gadgets without hanging.

However the Atom processor is weak so you may want to hear from others with more familiarity.

maybe i will upgrade the ram to 2GB first and then upgrade to windows 7 ultimate.

i think yes there is a difference in performance.
actually my cousin already try it. he disable the aero , and yeah , its increase the performance a little bit.

Turning off aero will give you a speed boost if you are low on RAM. But using win7 without aero would be so EEUUU!

I have a netbook. Asus HA 1002XP (yep, that's the name). I have Win 7 Ultimate on it and 2 Gigs of ram. I consider 2 GB minimum for satisfactory performance. I have Aero on. Performance isn't a problem. The keyboard has a horrible layout for the right shift key. Otherwise, I'd use the netbook more.

I tell them to rightclick Desktop>Personalize to choose an Aero theme and never hear a word back: sound of the Undead.
