Windows 7 Ultimate to Pro?

Ultimate version is installed on my system and has NOT been activated.

Since, now I bought Windows 7 Pro version, I just want to activate this rather than reinstalling.
I am not talking about activating Ultimate using Pro serial but rather
just activate it to pro version. Is this possible?
Is there a some sort of trick?
It is too much hassle to reinstalling OS and all the program.

There is no downgrade paths for Windows 7 (or any Operating System, that I know of).

You'll have to do a reinstall.
