Windows 7 ultimate x64 screensaver issue

I have a new computer with Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I initially set up my screensaver and power mgmt settings as always. Screensaver and sleep mode will work for a day or two and then the screensaver cease to come on and screen stays lit until the sleep setting kicks in. I have a windows 5000 wireless mouse and keyboard and downloaded the most current drivers and reboot and that works for a couple of days and then the same thing. I do have weather, eBay and CPU gadgets running in a sidebar. Any suggestions? Very annoying.

Sometimes if you change your desktop picture, icon settings, etc. Windows sees it as a new theme and resets things. Open your screensaver settings and check the timing there, mine changes too at times.

Thanks for the suggestion but not in play in my situation. I seem to lose the screensaver within 48 hours of a re-boot and getting it working again with no changes to hardware, programs or themes.

BTW, I am only using Windows 7 screen saver options. No photos, etc.
