Windows 7 Ultimate x64 wont' open ANY 32 bit programs

I've searched around and I couldn't find anyone else who had this issue.

I updated from Vista x64 today, and when I booted up, almost none of my programs would open. I discovered that is because my computer will not run any 32 bit programs :shock:

Anyone have a solution for this?

Or, you can always uninstall all the programs and re-install them. It's almost impossible to find a program that won't work on 7

Agreeing readily with the two previous posts I have to add that many older programs simply being older you ran on Vista have to be installed or run in the compatibility mode or now seen with 7 is the "troubleshoot compatibility" option in the right click menu in order to see older even XP games and apps run on just the 32bit 7 there. With upgrades it's typical not to see previously installed programs run with ease on any newer version of Windows to start with at times where a clean install of those is recommended.

One tip for any direct upgrade to 7 is to first uninstall as many programs as possible that you can see a fresh install of afterwards once 7 is up and running good to avoid problems. Sometimes registry errors will take place or new entries are simply needed in the newer version in order to see previously installed programs run.

The idea world of course is always a clean install of any newer version of any OS including Windows when possible to see the best end results. A fresh clean install on a fresh primary can make things much easier when later adding all of your programs on again.

As superjose pointed out try uninstalling the programs that won't run now to see them installed fresh if you are not able to perform a clean install of everything. Hopefully that will get them going for you.
