i have the same problem but i can fix it
well it's simple everything was fine and ok then i changed homes so my new internet is on a limited package slow speed, so i turned the windows update off till i get a new fast internet which will be in a couple of days
fast forward i get a fast internet but i get this error on the update after i turned it back on, before i moved to a new place i already had my update working a downloading fine
Code 80070002
i tried literally everything
windows6.1 kb947821
windows update agent 7.6
windows update diagnostic but it couldn't fix the issue and when it said it did still the same proble happened
i have no virus
i made sure no temp files are on my pc
made sure all registry are ok
made sure all windows update services are working
as i said literally everything
all i need now is someone to tell me what to do i need to update my pc A.S.A.P. i have work to do and that work needs and updated pc
i even tried to download the updates manually and install them but no luck
i'm running windows 7 ultimate 64 bit SP1
no new softwares were installed on the pc
and i made sure its not the internet coz i took the pc to try it on a friends internet at his home
i even did a disk checkup to make sure everything is ok
i even tried windows resource protection but it couldn't perform the requested operation
i removed all temp files and folders in the DataStore and Download folders located in the SoftwareDistribution before i did that i disabled the Windows Update service removed all files then started it again
application log: Microsoft services
system log: Microsoft services
system information: Microsoft services
ADWCleaner: Microsoft services
Autoruns: Microsoft services
i tried to install an update manually it didn't work, and when i open installed updates to the the installed updates it did not find any updates but that's strange because i have installed updates before
and for the automatic updates it wasn't even set on automatic it was set on notify me only.
i did remove the non plug and play devices and restarted my pc still nothing same error and i did set the auto update to off restarted my pc then set it to download only then restarted my pc still nothing same error.
i used ADWCleaner to clean all ADW then restarted still nothing same error
i did even start the system with only windows services and then tried to update it still nothing
what can i do
