Solved Windows 7 Update Failed

Hi, yesterday i formatted my computer and i have been installed the updates. all of them were successfully installed (all of the critical updates and the recommended) but after it i received service pack update and security update (those updates are the critical updates just 2) but when i click the "Install Updates" button it shows downloading updates, and after it, it says "Some updates were not installed" (failed) and than when i bracket the window and than at the bottom of the screen it says new updates available and when i try to install them again it says the same thing "Some updates were not installed", iv'e been tried everything ii googled it and i found some thing but they didn't helped me too. iv'e tried to reset the components and delete the history but nothing helped me!!! please suggest me more thing it start to piss me off!!!! :mad:

well first off don't get to mad it won't help you

Second ,You already reformatted and installed correct

Take the win 7 dvd once again but this time choose upgrade instead of clean install

It will do some changes but mind you choose UPGRADE it will re do your windows and allow you to install sp 1 or other updates

Im saying this cause i ran across the same situation you just need to update windows again and it should take

Remember everything doesn't work perfect on the first go sometimes you have to play with it a litte it is time consuming but that is the best option besides Mickey mouseing around with other aspects that might not have anything to do with the upgrades

nope if your are connected to the net it will snag it all from MS

You could try a System Restore to PRIOR to your problem commencing.

System Restore


* It would better enable us to help you in a more efficient way if you would give us the update error code which starts with the letters "KB" and followed by a set of numbers.

*Have you checked in Event Viewer ?
Event Viewer - Windows Logs - System & Application.
Check for any red error messages to do with this problem.

Wouldn't harm to do a System File Check.

Go to Start > Run > and type cmd > now type sfc /scannow
Take note of the message at the end.

iv'e tried system restore but it didn't helped, today i formmated my computer again but it didn't helped either, anywhy the update error code is 80072F78 failed 61 updates :(
