Windows 7 update failures and configuration issues.

Hi,

I have an Acer netbook running windows 7 starter...for several days each time I close the laptop there are updates that attempt to install but fails to do so for some reason...there are also issues of configuration,seemingly every time I start the laptop.

I have read the uploader tool page but before going through this process would like to ask why the laptop fails to update ? ...I recently got rid of any microsoft office programs...does this have anything to do with the failure to update ?

It`s a couple of days since I posted the above but the updating failure continues...I`ve no idea if the failure is caused by this laptop not in fact having the required internal programs to ensure the updates are accepted...something is obviously not right.

edit ti add...maybe the laptop just doesn`t need these updates...?
