Long story short, Ive been attempting to install Games for Windows Live however everything I have encountered so far has led me here to ask for the help of others. You see I am running windows 7 home premium 64bit and when I attempt to update windows its states that "Windows update service is not running please restart." I have restarted and the problem has persisted and I am nearly at witts end. I have checked service to see if the problem lies there but it doesn't even show up....
Trust me I have tried everything I could find and even followed the instructions posted here in the guidelines http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-...4840-windows-update-posting-instructions.html As I proceeded to run the readiness tool the program stopped and gave me this error from the Windows Update Standalone Installer "Installer encounteered and error: 0x80070424. The specified service does not exist as an installed service" Which was to be expected seeing as it is not running under the services and several other things I tried gave me this error :/
