windows 7 update slowing me down

I just bought this new HP laptop on Monday. It runs 4GB of RAM, has a 500GB SATA harddrive and runs in full vivid HD and for the first 2 days it was running seemlessly and super fast and then I was powering down and it installed a 46 item update and since installing that windows 7 update my computer has been noticably slowed down. I want to know whats up and can I make it fast like it was before?

Using system restore, remove the updates. Install a few at at a time and test. When you find the culprit and it is not security related, remove and do no reinstall. Right click and then hide.
