Windows 7 update stuck at preparing update.

The update in question is .netframework 3.5 I have tried the windows update fix it program and that didnt work. I have tried renaming the sofware folder in windows folder to old. but that does nothing.

I dont know what else to do.

I do not getting any error codes.

No-one knows you've done anything unless you put a reply post up :)
There's no obvious errors in either CBS or CheckSUR logs.

I would suggest resetting Windows Update - How do I reset Windows Update components?
post back with your results.

I tried that. Maybe its time of a reinstall?

What do you mean by a reply post? i did what you ask. I ran the test and did the cmd thing and posted the logs.

I got an error running that program unhandled expection.

could not load file or assembly accessibility version=2.0.0.0

If you modify an existing post, the system doesn't flag the thread as being unread, and doesn't notify the other participants that anything has change - a reply post tells the system to flag it, and email all involved.


I suspect that the problem is with the basic .NET install - and that can only be cured by a repair install or clean install.
