Dear forum friends,

Is there any way to use two different sound profiles in Windows 7? I have Dragonfly DAC and needed to change settings in Sound tab (switched to "no sounds" profile), so various alerts and chimes wouldn't kick-in during (loud :)) audio playback. But when I unplug USB DAC I want sound profile to be reverted to default windows sounds. Currently, whatever profile I choose it will remain default for ALL sound devices.

I was wondering if there is any way to use two different sets of sound profiles in the control panel and have them changed depending on what device is plugged in?

Cheers,
Miki

I have a home recording studio (using Sonar X3) and also use the PC for other tasks, and I just disabled all sounds and have never felt the need for them.
