Windows 7 uses 1gb RAM idle

How much RAM does Windows 7 64 bit use in an idle situation?
Windows 7 32 bit uses around 600MB you say?
So I am wondering about the 64 bit version

Mine runs a nice 700-800MB idle, with MSE in the background.

NOD 32 is famous for eating Ram, it's been a problem for quite a while now.

lol you gotta be kidding! its at 40mb on my system atm...

The strange thing is that not everyone running NOD32 gets this problem, I'm glad it hasn't happend to you but the problem has been reported by thousands of people none the less.

I believe it has to do with the NIC-wifi problems that seem to be the biggest problem yet for Windows 7.

I've been using it for years now and I never encountered such a problem...

It must have been a misconfiguration/anomaly in you're OS or in you're ESET Settings... so keep you're mistakes to you're self. hell the first post didnt even show eset using TONS of RAM... so yea


Once again at the person whos having problems... if you're system is snappy not slugish and runs great dont mind the RAM... if you want peace of mind then read Windows Superfetch!


and Yes I'm not only a ESET fan boy but a security geek.

Sorry I hadn't posted anything for a long time, I didn't have internet.

It seems it just needed some time. Now it's stable and running at 700-800 MB.
