Has anyone noticed that in Windows 7, the command prompt doesn't allow you to scroll up??

You can't scroll up to see the top content once it's scrolled down.

Try pinging until the screen fills and the stop it. You can't go up and see previews content...
In all other versions the mouse scroller worked fine for that!

annoying!

Mine's working on my computer and laptop, you mean scrolling in any direction? I can scroll all the way to the top, bottom, and again. Scroll wheel and touch pad work... are you still running build 6801? -I'm on 7000.

Well, to be more specific,I just noticed it happens if you run CMD from Start - Search, it doesn't happen if you open Command Prompt from it's shortcut in accessories....

But I usually open it like this...Start, cmd Ctrl+Shift + Enter (for elevated)

It's build 7000. I guess the shorcut is pre-set to this setting, but where is this scroll bar setting? This makes me feel so stupid asking like..for the basics!

Works perfectly fine here.
Did you check the Buffer setting?

Yeah it was a stupid question indeed...

It's the screen buffer size setting... if you run cmd from search/run, it opens with 80 x 25, else it opens with 80x300 which enables the scroll bars....and once you set it to 300 once, it keeps it this way. :o

I was having the same issue. I changed the height and now life is back to normal.
I do think this is considered a bug though.
