Windows 7 Welcome Screen

Has anyone figured out why the welcome screen spins for about 10 seconds ... then brings up the desktop. It is clear that startups are occurring as |I can here skype logging in. This is new in the RTM as RC did not have this long delay. All my device drivers are functional and working. The machine is running an SSD drive OCZ ... it is dual core 64 @2.1ghz --- a ripping machine. Yet the Welcome takes a long time.

Thoughts?

You're complaining about 10 seconds??? I remember when windows took 3-5 minutes to load on a fast machine!!

I thought this was a technical forum where people discuss solutions to issues.
I would recommend that non-technical responses to be directed to another area of the forum - where they may be appreciated.

If you're expecting an instant desktop display, you're never going to get it. 10 seconds is not an unreasonable amount of time for the appropriate drivers to be loaded and the desktop to be displayed...

Right but you do not have an issue that requires a solution.

The Welcome screen may be displayed for 30 seconds during the logon process after you set a solid color as the desktop background in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2

I´m too suddenly having the same issue, but the above fix didnt apply to me. I used to get in after few secs with the "welcoe" screen.
