Windows 7 Wont boot - Showing recovery box - Administrator X: CMD

A friends laptop wont turn on.

Keeps going to boot menu when starting (safe mode options with black screen)

Managed to get recovery menu open but nothing works?

Got CMD open but at top it says "Administrator: C:\" or something like that (see attachment)

Tried to access C drive for the rstrui.exe to roll it back and it only shows 2 folders?

Any idea's from pictures?

The laptop doesn't switch on, Just stuck in a loop.
Only get the screen (image attached)

Just goes in a loop, the laptop doesn't even boot to desktop.

You have the win8 recovery environment instead of win7! Boot to advanced boot options where you see "safe mode" and "start windows normally". What happens if you select start windows normally? Do you see a blue screen (may just a split second)? Watch very good!!

Maybe better select "Disable Automatic Restart on System Failure" and boot normally. Then you see the BSOD

I'm not sure its not my laptop, they're 500 miles away so I can even see it visually =/

So it has windows 8 recovery? :s would a recovery disk fix it if I sent one?

Also the laptop was running really slow so I deleted some programes and got it running smoothly now I'm getting the blame e.g why I need to fix it =/

Its running Windows 7 Home premium.. I have a Windows 7 Ultimate disk..

If I upgrade/reinstall windows on the laptop will it create a windows.old file with all the documents/pics etc ?

What happens when you choose the Automatic Repair option? Automatic Repair - Run in Windows 8

Then look at the Advanced optinon menu to see if there are hardware diagnostics to check the hardware.

You can also Refresh Windows 8 which will reinstall the OS while keeping all data, programs and settings in place. You may be prompted for the Win8 DVD however.

Another option if this is a factory OEM build is to run Reset Windows 8 which draws on the Recovery partition to recover the OS to factory condition. You can first rescue your files using Paragon Rescue Kit Free Edition 11.0 Free

What is the PC make and model?

let us see pictures of each of the 1st and third choices above when you click them.

Again, what happened when you ran Automatic Repair? How about Diagnostics?
