I've read several posts about how to fix windows 7 boot problems, I've tried several approaches but it will won't work and I really don't wanna reformat for the 6th time this month.

I installed windows 7 on my C:, But today when I went to boot up and it failed I put in my install CD and tries to do an Autorepair and i noticed that it said my windows 7 installation was on the G: instead of the C: o.O can anyone help me pls?

( Tried system restore, it didn't work. )
( Also tried this. How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows )

Hi man.
Did you try another restore point?!
And how about "advanced" under Windows 7 DVD recovery tools?! I mean, did you run:

CMD > chkdsk /f or chkdsk /r

In some cases, it's all you have to do!!:)

Alittle more info would help.

What is the message when you try to boot into Windows?

In what way does startup repair fail?

What is the message from startup repair?

The partition letters seen from WinRe are not necessarily the same as you see when you boot into windows.

AS I boot into windows it says. " Starting Windows " on the bottom of the screen. And Normally colored balls circle above the text and form a windows logo. But that doesn't happen anymore it just says. " Starting Windows " but never boots up and never shows the Graphic of the balls forming the windows logo.

Turn on pc and press "DELETE" after it beeps - "assuming a AWARD BIOS" -. You'll enter into BIOS menu. Go to "Advanced Bios Features and press enter. Go to "First Boot Device", press enter and find "CD-ROM", select it and press escape. Repeat this for "Second Boot Device", bu now select "Hard Drive". Press escape. You must be back to BIOS start menu. Put Windows DVD into drive and close it. Now, press F10 to save BIOS settings. Pc will reboots. When it prompts "PRESS ANY KEY TO START CD / DVD", do it. Choose keyboard interface and click on "Repair this computer". It will do the rest!!!

Let us know the results!!!

Now that i think of it. I did have a USB flash drive plugged in. I think. Would that effect anything? I might not of had one in.

Yes, USB flash drives can prevent Windows from booting... Disconnect the USB flash drive and try booting windows.

Let us know the results.
