windows 7 won't print recognise external hd can't access control panel

hi my laptop was working now it won't print i can't access print manager, it won't recognise the external hard drive i can't get at the control panel, i've run a full scan alls well!? tried various prompts
anyone anywhere any ideas?

Run a System File Check to ensure your system is not corrupted. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html
Also do a Full Scan with MalwareBytes to see if there is any malware causing this.
