Windows 7 Won't Reinstall

Hello everyone, I am in need of some help. Hopefully there is a way to fix my problems without having to spend any money...

I have an Acer laptop that I'm sure I have somehow broken haha. Long story short, my laptop suddenly restarted itself and I haven't been able to use it properly since. It took me to the startup repair, but said it couldn't fix the problem automatically, and that it needed to restart, thus putting it into a loop. So, frustrated and tired, without thinking to look up my problems on the internet from another computer, I decided to have my computer back up my files and reset to factory defaults. That was not a good idea. Now when I turn on my laptop, I get the error that Windows can't install and that it needs to restart, putting it into yet another never ending restart loop. I need help! I haven't even had this laptop for a year yet. if you need more info, let me know. Also keep in mind that I am not hip with computer lingo, please reply to me in words that I'll be able to understand haha.

If you have backed-up the data you need to save from the lappy, have a look at this information below and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.


After you have copied out or made back-ups of the data you need to save to external media; if you can find an exact Windows version that the PC shipped with you can do a clean install using the activation key on the COA sticker attached to the PC though it may require a robo-call to MS to sort the OEM batch-key.

If you can't find an exact same version, you could use the info in this tutorial to create an "all versions" installer of any version Windows installer, to install using the same method I posted above.

After you have made backups of everything you care to save, the best method is to do a complete wipe (secure erase) of the entire Hard Disk Drive first, it over-writes everything, all the old Windows code including all the old drivers/programs, giving you the best possible space to install Windows to.

Mkay, but I actually didn't backup my data to an external source. :/ I think it just automatically put it on a different drive. Is there a way to get my stuff on something external at this point or am I out of luck?
I already figured out a way to get back to startup repair, if that info helps anyone.

How to Copy & Paste in Recovery Console on Windows 7 or Vista

Run Startup Repair a few more times to see if it finds something to repair and completes.

Next burn to CD Win7 Repair CD for your (32- or 64-bit) Win7: System Repair Disc - Create. Boot it to copy out your files using this method: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console.

Next see if Repair CD finds a Win7 installation, then run Startup Repair repeatedly again.

If this fails Next burn to CD free Partition WIzard bootable CD, boot it and post back a camera snap or type out the full Disk listings given on the map. Partition Wizard. Then highlight the Win7 HD and from the Disk tab run Rebuild MBR, Apply, restart to see if it starts.

If not boot back into PW CD, Rightclick on the Recovery Partition to Modify>Set to Active, then restart the computer to see if it boots into Factory Recovery.

If not, boot back into PW CD, mark the Win7 partition itself Active, then again highlight the HD, select Rebuild MBR from Disk tab, restart. If this fails, boot into the WIn7 Repair CD to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots.

You may need to order Recovery Disks from the manufacturer or find a Win7 installer for your version to clean reinstall with the Product Key on COA sticker, following these steps to get a perfect reinstall: Reinstalling Windows 7
