The boot loader is messed up, hence the message. Did you do an upgrade installation, or did you do a "custom" install and format the drive?

Windows 7 won't restart (System Recovery Options)

I have the same issue Window 7 won't start and System Recovery options will not repair issue. I have searched everywhere to find an answer. I have found many people reporting the same type of issue and no real solutions offered.
I have reloaded Windows 7 for the 4th time. Each time the problem occurs it seems to be related to System updates. The first time it happened as the system applied something like 64 updates after initial install. I decided to turn off automatic update and this allowed the machine to survive and operate for several days until I tried to update a driver and it would not start again after the required reboot.
