I just attempted to activate my new installation of Windows, but when manually entering the product key in System properties, it said that I could not use an update key to make a clean install. I then followed the tutorial here on the forum, and merged the MediaBootInstall file downloaded from that tut. Afterward I entered slmgr -rearm in an elevated CMD Prompt, which it said was successful.

After rebooting, I again tried to manually enter the key from System Properties, but it failed, and so I tried using the telephone number. After giving it the number groups on the activation window, it said that it couldn't verify them, and tried to switch me over to a live rep, but after it rang twice, it hung up.

Obviously, I will try again, but instead of perhaps going in circles, I wanted see if I had forgotten anything, or had done something wrong?
