Hey guys,

I have been using Windows 7 for a while now, and it is one the best operating systems i have used. However, i am having a problem with windows addressing all of my RAM. In the task manager, my total memory is only 3071 MB, and the system preferences panel states "Installed memory: 4.00 GB (3.00 GB usable)"

I've searched around for solutions, but i have yet to find a problem that matches mine. during startup the bios registers all 4096 MB of memory, and both my linux boots register ~3.8 GB. I can't understand why windows would only address 3 of my 4GB. I looked in my bios for a memory remap function, but i did not find anything.

Any suggestions or links would be very appreciated.

Here are screenshots of my task manager and system preferences panel
