Gordie, why would you even ask? A good share of the world, including our own Government (USA) is still using Windows 7.

It was only a few years ago, that the Veterans' Administration (VA) upgraded all their terminals from Windows XP to Windows 7.

And there is absolutely NO reason to change now.

I and 90% of my PC customers are still using Win-7 and have no plans on upgrading to anything else.

Anything else?

Yes. Still running perfectly. No issues, no malware found so far, despite all the warnings up to a few months ago that my PC would be hacked and be riddled with viruses. That was BS then and it's BS now.

Anybody? Only a few Million! And me!

The only people who don't want to run Win-7 anymore are those who are inept at keeping it properly maintained and running at peak performance.

I sympathize with those who are totally Computer Illiterate and will just let their PC go till it can't go anymore and then feel like they have to go out and buy a new computer. Then they are REALLY unhappy, when they come head to head with Windows 10.

Just like an old car, that's never had an oil change, or any other maintenance, Windows (any version) will load up and die eventually.

As a professional PC tech, I've had to work on PC's like that. It usually takes me several hours to get rid of all the neglect. But once cleaned, tweaked, and re-tuned, I can make any old PC run better than it did when it was new.
Like one famous wrestler used to say, "It's what I do!".

Stay safe and Stay Healthy, my friends,

Unfortunately, that's most users. When your machine slows down to a crawl and doesn't function, you go buy another one. I found a premium vacuum cleaner near our dumpster a few years ago. It was missing a plug and the filter and dirt container had never been cleaned. I'll give them 1 point for the plug because most people can't do those. But the rest was lack of maintenance. Throw it out, buy another for $175.

Yup! I found one of those, a Eureka upright. A little kid's toy and a hair ball blocked the air intake, and the brush drive belt was broken. I cleaned it out, replaced the belt and dust bag and it works GREAT.
I'll bet, that they just tossed it in the dumpster, and bought a new one, that by now is in another dumpster somewhere.

I've been given dozens of PC's over the years, that were deemed, either "Broken" or even "DEAD". And, I fixed them all, with as little as a new CMOS battery.

I'm still using a nice little Toshiba laptop, that was given to me as "Broken". Yes it did need a new HD.
No big deal....I put in a small SSD and it was up and going again. I installed Windows 7/Pro/32, and maxed out the RAM, and it's my backup PC today. The only problem I had, was finding the drivers for the SD Card slot.

PC sales would really go down, if more people would just take care of what they have.
That's what I do.....clean up and maintain peoples' PC's. Most of my customers still use older PC's that are still running Windows 7. Even one has a much older eMachine that is still running XP. They love it, and won't have anything else.
At my left hand, is my little Acer ONE, Netbook that came with Windows XP/SP2 on it. I fire it up once a week and update all the Security Software and run some scans. It still works great, and it's my Emergency Communications PC in case of Hurricanes.

Cheers Mate, stay Healthy!

2 of my 3 PC's are cast-offs that I refurbed with Win 7. #2 is my Hardware Backup, and I have all my online work on #3. But we are in the minority.

PC sales are going down. People who can no longer handle Windows are using smart-phones or tablets.

Some of my Dell PC's are several years old, so I run these Windows operating systems in them:

Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit
(has post-EOL updates to April 2019)

Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit
(has post-EOL updates to April 2020)

I learned a long time ago the value of maintaining and updating PC's and stretching several years more usable life out of them.

The last time I purchased a brand new factory-brand PC was in 2008.
I've purchased nothing but refurbished since then.

That's pretty cool! What programs do you use on your XP? If you need a browser for it, try MyPal.

I use these 2 browsers in Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit:
Feodor2 MyPal 28.9.1
Maxthon Cloud Browser 5.3.8.2000

These are the most current versions and are kept up-to-date and support and load most websites.

There are several other apps that I install and use, but more and more of them are dropping support, especially the security-related ones.

Alright. So if you want those apps, you have to install the outdated versions? They will work well?

Yep, only outdated versions of certain apps will work.
I have to use version 3.5.1.2522 of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
I have to use version 5.63.7540 of Piriform CCleaner.

This is not BS never was.
The all truth this is: Partial unsafe environment when Win7 workstation this is bonded with Microsoft server in to corporate network.

Internet structure this is based on LINUX servers, therefore Win server related security patches loaded over Win7 workstation they do not help in anything.

Workstation protection when this connects to internet instead of INTRANET, this was and is and will be obligation of the computer user and not of Microsoft.
