windows 8 audio problems

im sure someone has posted this somewhere but i cant find it anywhere. I was curious about how windows 8 might look so i decided to download it on a windows xp laptop, now i am having trouble with the audio, could someone help me out , below is whats going on,

when i try to click start with the " windows audio " it gives me a window that says " error : 1297 etc. " also i dont have something called plug and play. can you help me.

Might want to ask @ our sister site (eightforums.com). The users there have more experience with the issues.

Probably just a driver issue but if you went from xp>>WCP there may not be a current driver for it and if so you will need to install it in compatibility mode

To install an older driver in win 7 you need to install it in compatibility mode.


To install in compatibility mode right click the installer, go to properties, then compatibility. Choose the appropriate OS
