A lot of people have been compariung Windows 8 to Windows Vista. Windows Vista is good in my opinion. Windows 8 isn't very good at all. Would you rather have Windows 8 or Windows Vista?

Vista. I've never had Vista as my main OS, but I have seen it run fine on other peoples computers, provided they had decent hardware. Based on what I've seen of 8, I'd rather go back to ME.

Most probably none. Used vista for not more than 10 days, I didn't know the tweaks, so it performed very bad, and got back to XP :(

Tried 8 too, dont like the inference at all. It needs a lot of unfreezing-refreezing in computing concept, troublesome!

Given the choice of Vista and Windows 8 then Vista wins every time (I liked Vista).
Vista seemed great when it was on a good computer. I remember a couple years back, a friend was asking me about putting 7 on her laptop, which was running Vista. She said she hated Vista. I decided to take a look at her system specs, and she only had 512MB of RAM. I had a couple of 1GB sticks laying around from when I upgraded my old laptop to 4GB. Replaced the one 512MB stick with the two 1 GB sticks, and she was as happy as could be. Major performance increase. She kept that computer until she finally bought a new computer a couple months ago.

I put vista on a computer with 512mb of ram and it runs horribly, lol. I even set it on the classic theme, but it is still slow.

I liked Visa alot , it as a big step from xp (as win 8 from win 7) but I dont like the metro alot on my laptop or desktop ,I think Microsoft wanted by win 8 to beat 2 rocks by 1 kick 1:the desktop and laptop ,2: tablet .

I liked Vista better because Microsoft made genuine improvements to the UI such as the start menu, aero glass and nicer looking themes and not having to do a restart after the computer stopped responding.

I also did not like Vista when I first tried to install it on a XP machine but an internet connection and SP 1 made a world of difference.

With Windows 8 we are returning to an start menu that is worse than XP and with the addition of the store will only see less features available in future windows releases to increase Microsofts revenue stream. Just imagine add a Control panel for $ 19.95 or add Task manager for $ 9.95 as we now have to pay extra for Media Center in Win 8 that was free in previous OS's

I personally have no beef with Windows 8, the interface on it isnt so bad. If your at the start screen(metro face) then all you need to do is start typing and walah! If your on the desktop the press the windows key and start typing,

The boot up is nice and fast. Major programs seem to be working on, it's still not my main OS. I have not yet learned about all the Win8 features added. I do know a lot of thinks will become native and i will have to rely less on freeware software. Native ISO support is one example
