when i first got my pc it was quick and simple to customize themes. For some odd reason all of my themes are now stuck on the windows basic pale blue color and will not change no matter what i do. I ran a diagnosis and it is telling me that it is caused by mirror drivers from my remote desktop programs i have installed. However i know this is not the problem because i installed these programs after the problem first appeared. I would appreciate any help on this topic.

Welcome to Seven Forums brokenbits. Are you trying to use one of Windows built in Aero themes, or a 3rd party theme? Do you show the Aero themes in the Personalization dialog? The easiest thing to try would be running the System File Checker

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

It will find and correct any corrupt system files and return customizations to default settings. If you are using 3rd party themes, you will have to patch again before using them. A Guy

Welcome to the Seven Forums

Click on the Start Button type in Services In the search box and then click on Services
Scroll down until you see Desktop Windows Manager Sessions Manager select it in click on the Stop text and let it stop after that click on Start text and see if that works. Your screen may blink when you do this.

Also what did you use to enable third-party themes on your computer?

Thanks, but after trying this it is still not working. The color is still windows basic. I removed my third party themes a while ago and cant remember what they were, but they cant be effecting it now. I have a few ideas on how to fix this and i will try them tomorrow when i get the chance.

After a ton of messing around I finally found the problem. Apparently there was a mirror driver that was installed without my knowledge called "mirage driver". I didn't recognize it to be important so I removed it and the problem was fixed.
