Windows wont let me delete these sound files that are choking my playlists..i tried a system restore, deleting them (not a TrustedInstaller or whatever), and turning off WMP and WMS and turning it back on...they come back as an Unknown Album.. Im not great at the computer thing but basically i had to erase all my music which is awful for my work day..I dont know where they came from or how they got here but im stumped:sarc:

Hi SLOOPER ,

From what i understand. The media files reappear in the library even after you delete them. Media player has 2 options to delete files from the library. 1> Delete files from library only . 2> Delete files from library and computer.
You will find this option once you open windows media player and right click on library and then click on options , under the library tab you will find a check box next to "Delete files from computer when deleted from Library ". Please ensure that this box is checked (This will delete selected music files as well).

You may use the below mentioned link that will guide you through step by step instructions.

Remove items from the Windows Media Player Library

Alternatively ,you can also empty the recycle bin once you have deleted the unwanted file from the library so that the files are permanently deleted.

Note: You may not be able to recover the files once deleted. Hence, would recommend you to backup all important files before performing the above steps to avoid data loss in case files get accidentally deleted.
