Hello folks, I've been trying to upgrade 2 7-Pro x64 machines to Ultimate, using Windows Anytime Upgrade, and I get through the 1st step of my name and address most of the time, and sometimes I even get to where I put my payment information in, but then I get and error saying to close Anytime Upgrade and try again.

Once I saw a different error, saying that the selected option is no longer available.

I called the help number, and the Microsoft employee said Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade is no longer available. I can't confirm this, and it seems strange that you would still be able to select it, and enter payment information and such. He told me my only options were to buy a full-version of 7 Ultimate, and do a clean install, or buy Windows 8 Pro and clean install that.

The web site still indicates it's available: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/help/videos/upgrade-to-another-edition-of-windows-7-by-using-windows-anytime-upgrade.

Anyway, can anyone confirm that Windows Anytime Upgrade no longer works? I need to use bitlocker on these two systems, and don't want to do clean installs. Thanks!

A full, upgrade or AnyTime Upgrade key will work in AnyTime Upgrade, no need to clean install.
