Windows Anytime Upgrade with Technet key

OK, so I had a look around the forums and found plenty of topics on WAU, but they didn't answer my question.

I'm about to go buy a netbook with Win7 Starter and I was wondering if I would be able to use one of my Technet keys to upgrade to Home Premium. Anyone know?

Should be able to. I have used a Student Upgrade key to do an Anytime from HP.

Unfortunately, even though I have posted several times, no one has given me any feedback about whether it worked for them. I am the only one I know of who has tried it, and it worked for me.

Well, I went and bought the netbook, so I'm gonna try it now. I'll post back on if it works or not.

Edit: Seems to be working so far. It accepted the key and has started the upgrade. Just have to see now if it will activate with the key.

Let us know if it activates. If not, there is a workaround to in-place Upgrade to another Win7 version, or just do a clean install using your Technet installer and key.

You shouldn't need to reactivate after the Anytime upgrade.

Eh, I'm just doing this as a test for now. After this I am going to wipe it out and clean install HP so that I can get rid of the crapware that's on it. It's up to 65%, so it should be done in the next few minutes. I'll report back.

Edit: Upgraded fine and activated fine with a Home Premium key from Technet. You do have to reactivate, but it activated perfectly over the internet. Also, the upgrade from Starter to Home Premium took about 6 minutes, including the restarts. Not bad at all.
