Windows Application Freezes

It would appear you're still having a problem.

At best, random freezing can be difficult to diagnose and solve.

The next time the system freezes, immediately press the RESET button on the computer, and then enter the bios before Windows starts. Go into the "system health" part of the bios (your bios may name it something else, but you get the idea), and report back on the CPU and CASE temperatures.

Also, If you feel comfortable doing so, you might want to turn off the pc and unplug it, then open the case, remove and reseat the memory, or replace the memory entirely temporarily with others.

Before the upgrade, you had no problems, but after the upgrade, things start freezing.

Certainly sounds to me like a hardware problem, or at least one that is related to the upgrade.

Check to make sure the BIOS is set to default settings. Check that the memory being used is on the motherboards supported memory list.

Question: When you performed the upgrades, did you transplant your old hard drive from the previous hardware configuration, or did you perform a clean reinstall of windows on the new hardware? I know Windows 7 does move from one hardware configuration to another far easier than previous versions of Windows, but maybe there is something left over from the "old installation" that is causing these conflicts which result in the feeze?
