Hi,

I am new to windows 7 Back up feature. Is it similar to Time Machine for apple?

So for instance, I would like to Create a copy of the current data of my laptop on day 1.....then by 14 I have modified several of the files (deleted + added + modified) and backed it up once again. If my hard drive fails on Day 15 can I retrieve the Back up, from my external drive, to as it was on day 14?

Sorry, I am just trying to figure out what the back up is really doing.

thanks for your clarification.

Windows Backup is very similar to Apple time machine however it is not designed for a manual Recover so if you want to keep something synced then you may want to use Synctoy as this will only add New files, Modified or deleted files and folders to the specific location

Works with Network, USB and SATA locations

Download details: SyncToy 2.1
