Windows backup tool

Hi,

I back up my music, photos, docs from time to time using win 7s built in backup tool. When I back my stuff up does the software backup just the new entries? As it would be pointless already backing up stuff that's been backed up previous.

Hello Clark,

The backups are incremental. Windows Backup backs up all selected folders the first time it's run and then it only backs up files that are new or have been changed since the last scheduled backup was made. :)

The blue Note box at the top of the tutorial below can give you more detailed information on the workings of this if you like.

you would need to make sure that it is set up to run " incremental back ups" i dont use the back up feature so i cant take you through the steps but when setting up your back up and schedule then look to see if there is a setting for incremental
