Windows cannot find system image backup files

Please help!

I try to restore system image to the new HDD, what replaced brocken.
I have system image files on external hdd connected to USB
I used repaire disk, original disk, control panel method, but Windows cannot find the files(system images).
I see the files when I go to "Browse drivers".
I see the files when I attache the files as VHD in disk manager

What I do wrong?!!!

I spend 6 hours today without any results ... please, help ...

window7 recovery will not detect the windows7 image if you change the name of the folder or file.
If you change it rename it with default name

Lor, are you trying to do a system restore using an external HD connected to the USB port?

I had a similar problem, that may help. Disconnect from the USB port, insert Windows7 repair disc (Boot CD) when that starts to load connect the USB ext. HD. It should then see the ext. drive, follow on-screen directions. Hope this works for you.
