Windows command processor virus

I need help removing this virus from my laptop.

I've been reading some other topics about this and so far the only step I have taken is to download Malwarebytes. I have scanned the laptop 4 times now and each time I get a different number of objects detected, but after deleting and restarting the problem persists with the windows command processor asking to make changes to my computer.

I would really appreciate any help you guys can give.

What AV are you using? Try in safe mode with networking and run a full scan with malwarebytes.

My Norton AV expired so currently none.

It's probably a good idea to get a working & updated AV. This post has a list of free and paid-for AV's. Have a look & choose one. Viruses are constantly evolving and new ones come out every day, so a AV with outdated defs does you no good.

You can try scanning your system with SuperAntiSpyware. It also has a portable scanner which you can D/L to your FD and scan the PC with.

If the infection is deep, you may need to utilize a AV rescue boot disk. The following link has a list of them. Note: In the past, the Kaspersky has caused problems with Win 7. They may have remedied this, I do not know, however you may wish to consider using one of the other disks first.

Another option is MS Safety scanner:

It might be a good idea to also run this tool, as you may have some problem files in your temp folders.

TFC (Temp File Cleaner) will clear out all temp folders for all user accounts (temp, IE temp, java, FF, Opera, Chrome, Safari), including Administrator, All Users, LocalService, NetworkService, and any other accounts in the user folder. It also cleans out the %systemroot%\temp folder and checks for .tmp files in the %systemdrive% root folder, %systemroot%, and the system32 folder (both 32bit and 64bit on 64bit OSs). It shows the amount removed for each location found (in bytes) and the total removed (in MB). Before running it will stop Explorer and all other running apps. When finished, if a reboot is required the user must reboot to finish clearing any in-use temp files.

I'm no security expert but if and when you get through this you should definitely use an AV. MSE is free and pretty darn good.

Right now as Borg 386 posted I would use MS's on line scanners as a start. Depending on how that does, there are several other good online scanners, Bitdefender, ESET, Hitman Pro, Trend Micro, etc.
