So i turned on my computer today and was greeted by a big red X.The troubleshooter said "LOL NO ETHERNET CABLE", which isn't true as both the router and modem had a green light on them. I used the device manager to disable and enable the network adapter and it gave me a code 10.I then uninstall the network adapter in the device manager and clicked the "Scan for hardware changes" button. After that my internet worked but there's still a X on the icon.
This is what happened after a restart.

As you can see windows says there's no internet but it's working perfectly.

:D gotta love them Winduhs.

Do you have any other network connections configured? Any other Ethernet cables attached? I'm curious... I've never seen that before.

Hmm. I bet they're related. Something isn't right with the connection, and the network icon is stuck that way. I would bet the icon will revert to normal after your network regains stability; it's probably network issues. It may also be a bad network cable. Have you examined it? If it's damaged it may give you what Microsoft likes to call "unexpected results" :roflmao:

Disconnecting the power cable and waiting like a min before reconnecting will usually solve issues like this. It's static electricity and it disrupts what the components are reporting.
