Windows could not update the computer's boot configuration.

Hi all,

I tried to install Windows 7 sp1 32-bit on a formatted c drive .But after installing updates this error message pops up Windows could not update the computer's boot configuration. Installation cannot proceed.

I have compaq presario c700 laptop. Earlier I was using windows 7 itself.But after getting startup errors and unable to fix them using bootrec etc utilises I decided to go for a clean installation.

I am booting from USB

Please help.
