Recently had to reinstall win 7. I am trying to use my printer and Windows does not see it. Its a usb cable. I checked everything that one usually should....device manager, no 'other' shown as a problem in the USB controller section, hidden files are exposed, so i could not update or reinstall the latest driver that i have saved. Device and Printers did not show my printer, add printer or device, no help there either. I suspect that i need to install the driver at least, but like I said Device manager does not even show it. My printer worked flawlessly prior the crash...so i am sure its not mechanical.

If read my OP i said that it is not shown in usb controller area as an error or other...so i could not delete or upgrade my driver there. I do have a check mark to show ALL HIDDEN FILES. Any idea where i can install the driver other than device manager? My printer connects to the computer via usb cable.

My Laser printer is 7 years old, so i don't recall...anyway as i recall one goes to device manager and either delete the driver there and windows is suppose to reinstall a later driver version, which i have saved....but D M does not show printer at all or error on any of the usb cable controllers.

Hi,

Please could you provide the make and model of your printer?

If you could that would be great.

Best regards

What happens when you go to Devices and Printers and click on "Add a Printer"?

Edit: Just seen you already stated result of this in OP, apologies.
