Windows does not start..

I was messing with theme file in Windows 7 and I think screwed something up.
Whenever I reboot and login, nothing shows up except this error msg.

explorer.exe
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000076)

I tried open task manager using ctrl+alt+del but it gives me the same error.

taskmgr.exe
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000076)

I also tried safe mode but it also gives me the same error when I login.

How can I fix this problem?

Try Startup Repair.

Thanks for the reply Wish.

I tried Startup Repair but unfortunately, it didn't help.
I also tried System restore but it gave me errors.

Anyone else have a solution for this? I really want to avoid reinstalling windows



EDIT : Actually, it's somehow fixed now! It gave me an error during the System Restore but when I reboot and logged in, it gave me a System restore sucessful msg. Everything seems to works fine now. Thanks everyone.

Run the startup repair atleast 3 times. If that doesn't work, then deny any solution given by startup repair and select the 'More advanced recovery options' link, go to the command prompt and type 'sfc /scannow' (without the quotes) and boot normally to see if it helps.

Why not a system restore back to the date it was functioning properly?
