Help.

Last night my PC was acting slow & some of the programs were freezing.
Then all of a sudden my PC rebooted it self after my browser froze.

When it rebooted, it gave me to this screen:

"Windows Error Recovery
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
If Windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, startup repair can help diagnose and fix the problem.
If power was interrupted during startup, choose start windows normally."

I get two options
>Launch Startup Repair (Recommended)
>Start Windows Normally.

Starting Windows normally, just sends me back to the same page, telling me to choose.
Choosing Launch Startup Repair, it sends the screen black for several minutes untill finally it loads the default desktop Windows 7 Theme picture. I can move the mouse as well, but there is absolutely no other options to choose from. I left it on like that for an hour & then had to unplug the power cord from the socket to turn off my PC.

This happens now everytime I start my PC.

What can I do? I bought my PC used & don't have any Windows 7 disk to reinstall Windows 7.
My main concern now is getting access to my HDD back.
Is there anyway to fix this?

I called a PC repair shop & they quoted my nearly $300 over the phone to try & repair it & they didn't promise they could recover the HDD.

edit
oh yeah doing f8 and selecting any and all the options in safe mode all lead back to that same screen again.
I also tried removing the CMOS battery for 2 hours and placed it back. That didnt work either.

Please follow the instructions at the top of this page and post the bsod(s) so we can have a look at them. Its hard to tell what went wrong without the dump files from the bsod(s).
