Windows Explorer Auto Switches to "Large Icons" View

Hi all


I have customized my Windows Explorer, and went over all the settings,
and also set my folder view.

My prefered View is "Details", and that's what I chose,
and it stays like that.

But there's a scenario in which Windows Explorer decides to Auto Switch to another view - "Large Icons".
It happens If I download an .mp4 file to a folder,
and so If I leave that folder to another folder,
then when I come back to that folder that has an .mp4 file in it,
the view changes automatically to "Large Icons",
despite the fact that I set all folders to "Details" view.


Does anyone know how I can stop this auto-switching?

it is caused by media sensing, and this cancer is since WinXP without any settings or switch.
Therefore take this and save as foldertype.reg and run to add proper data to regedit:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\AllFolders\Shell]
"WFlags"=dword:00000000
"ShowCmd"=dword:00000001
"HotKey"=dword:00000000
"FolderType"="NotSpecified"

Now launch regedit and find this key and delete every numerous entry. leaving only - allfolders and shell
Win7 forgets about this setting after few thousands opened explorer windows and after every use of CCleaner. Therefore keep foldertype.reg always somewhere directly on C: to always update.
For every disk other than C: -> just click Right Mouse Button on drive and choose Properties. Tab -> Customize. Here choose General Items and apply this template to everything inside.
