Windows Explorer has stopped working

Basically, the heading of this thread tells it all. Just to elaborate on the problem I'm having. Any time I try and move a file on my computer a little box pops up telling me that Windows Explorer has stopped working. It doesn't matter whether I'm moving something from a folder onto the desktop or from one computer to another computer, this box pops up. I'm hoping there's an easy fix because it's inhabiting what I need to do on this particular PC.

Many thanks

Unless things have changed, there is no easy fix -- other than an image rollback to a windows where the the explorer worked. Now, does explorer work in Safe Mode?

I'm not sure, can you remind me how to get into safe mode, it's not something I have done for a long long time. If I'm right, switch the computer off and then back on and keep pressing F1?

I've decided to restore back to an earlier point to see what happens. I'll get back to you with the results when it's all finished
